'ASPIRATIONS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS'
Our model brings together therapeutic, relational, and child-centred approaches to create safe, nurturing, and stable environments in which children can recover, build resilience, and progress.
Our main objective is to work towards meeting the holistic welfare needs of each child and young person. We will provide a child centred package of support that contributes to their overall personal, emotional, social, physical needs and preferences. We will co-operate with other services and professionals to help to maximise each person’s independence, health, and wellbeing. Staff will encourage where possible for the child’s or young person’s participation in the community, and to help them each achieve a full potential and positive outcomes.
Tamare House is built on a child‑centred ethos that values each young person as an individual and recognises the unique strengths and challenges associated with learning difficulties. The home promotes aspirations beyond expectations, encouraging children to develop confidence, independence, and a positive sense of self. Staff provide specialist, developmentally informed care, adapting communication, routines, and therapeutic approaches to meet each child’s cognitive and emotional needs. Through consistent use of relational practice, including the PACE model, the home creates a safe and nurturing environment where young people can regulate emotions, build trusting relationships, and engage meaningfully in daily life.
Each home is overseen by a Responsible Individual (RI). The Home Manager reports directly to the RI and is supported by a Deputy Manager. The team also includes Senior Residential Care Workers (Senior RCWs) and Residential Care Workers (RCWs).
